Accelerated recovery from better fitness also affects overcoming minor illnesses. 25 years ago it took me 5 days for a sore throat to turn into a cough and about a month for the cough to fade. Now, after years of outdoor exercise classes, running group and fight club, it takes me just one — two days for a bad throat to transition to a cough and 2 weeks for the cough to go away.
