I myself am shocked at the Russian army's incompetence in Ukraine. They invested in newer APCs (like the BTR-82A) and have plenty of IFVs (BMP-2 and 3) plus advanced mobile air defences - why no combined arms warfare? Their doctrine is heavily based on mass artillery bombardment which would have made life hell for infantry tank hunters - but inexplicably they've actually held back (although this may change with a concurrent rise in civilian deaths.)
