Republican politicians need a sustainable population of malleable and impressionable citizens to keep on voting against their personal interests, like supporting tax cuts for the ultra rich and climate change denial which benefits their corporate donors. The entrenched supernatural stupidity of anti maskers and anti vaxxers who are nearly all Republicans are the end result of decrepit education standards.
